Re: Rich Dentist kills Majestic Lion
As a youngster, I enjoyed hunting.. usually ducks etc..
I have many friends, who enjoy deer hunting.. They have it in an art form and here in Wisconsin, it is a family tradition for many a family.
We have a lot of deer here.. One of them cost me $1000 for car repair..
I have nothing against hunting, in general - as long as the species are being replenished.. How about American buffalo? Is it ok or is it close to extinction?
But I can't imagine any nation condoning the killing of such an endangered species as Lions/Tigers/Elephants.. There is so much poaching going on in Africa.. that it is very very sad..

The difference with Wisconsinites hunting deer is that they make excellent sausages with what they kill. (Looks longingly across the street to his neighbor from Wisconsin and wonders what will be served for the chiefs packers game on Sunday)

Hopefully what is served up for the game is defeat for the Packers, but that's for another discussion.

Personally, I'm still outraged. Cecil 4 ever. He was so, so majestic.

Yeah, but the culling will (should ) focus on removing the weak, sick, inbred, genetically over-represented, and otherwise "undesirable" animals, not those with heads that will "look good" hanging on a wall.
