A few months ago I discovered a well known member, with far more posts than me, was not far from here, and a meet up for a beer was proposed. He hasn't been back since.

I'm feeling very depressed.

You are probably on the "no meet-up" list. Its quite extensive.

So, the last person to arrange a meet up with you hasn't been seen since. That might be a little off-putting for future invitee's :D

Have to say, it was an eye opener for my kids in the "do as I say not as I do" category when I told them we were going to a park to meet some strangers I'd been chatting with on the internet.....:lol:

As someone who just posted in the meetup area:

I don't have a strong desire or a strong aversion to meeting people from here. I'm generally a social person and like the idea of a going for a pint or coffee etc. with someone with at least one life experience (immigration) in common with me. If no one wants to meet up, it doesn't bother me, but if they do, it will probably be a bit of fun.
