I still think he's on a green card, and they went to Canada first to wait it out and then moved to the US once he had it. Guess the only way we'll ever know is if he applies for citizenship soon or not though.

Interesting side question, can Royal Family members live in Canada/Australia for as long as they want? Are they exempt from usual immigration controls even when not on state business?

Makes sense, but there must also be a waiting-processing time for a diplomatic visa too. Diplomatic status has to be granted by the US government to the incoming diplomat.

Last I heard that had died a death, it was denied a few months ago. Not sure if they're appealing or not (or even if they can).

Ah, interesting, I hadn't heard about that but just Googled and you're right, it is tomorrow. Which may mean we all get our answer as to what visa he's on if the records are released or any details given.

Lawyers are saying he may have exaggerated his drug use to sell his book. So he was either a drug user or he’s a liar. I wonder what other facts he conveniently exaggerated/lied about.

My feeling is that he is probably both.

I'm torn really. Delighted he's out of the UK, distressed he's in the country I moved to. Can't he go somewhere else? I dunno... Mars maybe? Or fired into the sun on a rocket?
