Very true. However, there is a difference. The Prime Minister is not elected by the people, he or she emerges as a result of being able to command a majority in parliament. It is only in recent times that the British have attempted to emulate the US Presidential system, and regard a general election as an election for a Prime Minister.

Just back. Surprisingly busy given it's 10 in the morning here. Took me about 30 minutes in line, than another 15 to complete the 100 questions.

It does seem in the US that if you win it once the you are pretty much guaranteed to be your Party's nomination for a second term. Which I do not like.
