I don't abstain completely either, but I have been known to overdo it sometimes, too.

CICO is my best friend.

I was a lardarse before I moved here. Sweeties, and lots of curries, kebabs and beer did their damage long before Italian Beef sandwiches and deep dish pizza came along.

Trying to undo all that now, though. Maybe I should get Pokemon Go, for exercise

They may do an Irish version with Leprechauns and pots of gold.

Not sure how true these stories are.

A man dies after walking out on a highway, people robbed at gunpoint after luring people playing it, 10 car pileup after a man slammed on brakes on a highway playing it while driving, a dead body was found by a woman trying to catch one(heard the Pokémon she was trying to catch was standing on the dead body as if it won the previous battle), and Nintendo's stock skyrocketed 53% after launch.

..... perhaps it should be aptly named Pudgyman Go.

I had to shake my head and roll my eyes the other day when I saw someone on a Segway playing pokemon.

I really like it! I thought I'd give it a whirl, based on this thread and a few FB comments from friends.

I've been out for three bracing walks already today, with one or more children. There's a small park at the end of our road which is a Pokestop, and it's suddenly like a small street party venue - at one point there were 10-12 people of all ages, chatting and comparing monsters, in what's usually a stone dead suburb.

Darwin awards all round, it's just a crying shame when other people's stupidity results in the death or injury of those participating in 'real' reality.

My son loves it, he downloaded it on the first day I think. But then he grew up playing all the games on his Gameboy/DS etc, so that was inevitable. Apparently, as he discovered when we were out in the car yesterday, my daughter's day care has a gym. Hopefully she won't find out about that because I'm not about to buy a six year old a bloody phone

The only bad side of it for me is that I love going for walks by myself, and now everybody is going to be out ruining my peace and quiet. Bugger.

My neighbourhood is a veritable hotspot, with multiple gyms and pokestops within a few hundred yards of each other. While poking at the app last night I witnessed blue and yellow teams fighting it out at the nearest gym - the little defending pokemon getting getting hit by lightning and storms and then getting replaced.

The weird thing is that I have to walk around my neighbourhood to find pokemon, but at work I can just sit at my desk and find loads despite there being no gyms or pokestops anywhere nearby. I'm sure that once I have powered up a few of the things I will get bored of it. Plus it eats through my tiny mobile data allowance, which will get reset in a few days - not so bothered about using it up at the end of the period but I don't like to use it at the start for frivolous things.

My fiancé and I are part of the Pokemon generation too. Only difference is I'm the only one playing it and getting excited by it. Apparently it's not acceptable to only want to take her for a drink at a local bar because it's a pokestop?

Apparently I was running a bunch of them over in the car yesterday, but even then my son managed to catch one ...

He informs me that most of the pokemon round our way are shite, though.
