Re: Planespotting II
Following Pulaski's low flying 747, hopefully this is a link to a C17 low flying in Wales. I believe this is the one flown by an RAF pilot friend of ours who was here in Charleston, SC on secondment for 3 yrs

Interesting looking training aid, never seen something like that, suppose its something to stand in as an aircraft when teaching how to operate ground equipment, but dunno, we always just used real aircraft anywhere I worked for training...lol

I was trying to work it out too having never seen anything remotely like that. I came to the same conclusion, something to practice lining up FMC’s and rocket launchers against.

Not as impressive as the big jets, but the Canadian waterbomber doesn't have to land to refill water. I guess I should say doesn't have to stop, guess technically it's landing just not stopping...lol
This one was helping out in California.

I used to watch these practicing every spring, and they're pretty awesome. They can't take on a full load in a skim pass, but if they come to a stop on the lake they can. Trouble is, with a full load they take a hellishly long space to take off again, so the hit and run system is great for smaller bodies of water.

An F-35B has had a midair collision with a KC-130 refueling tanker. The KC-130 tanker landed in a field just short of the airport it was trying to reach, the pilot of the F-35B ejected.
Here's Juan Brown/ Blancolerio's report:

Washington State is of course not happy, and reportedly the state has reached out to Boeing several times in an attempt to keep 787 assembly in Washington, but apparently Boeing never returned the calls. Washington Governor will assess the favorable tax treatment Boeing currently receives.
Workers are of course not happy as many more will be losing jobs on top of the job cuts already made.
787 production to be consolidated to South Carolina.

Unless something changes, looks like 32,000 employees at United and American (combined between the 2) will begin layoffs, American say's if congress provides funding in the next few days, they will reverse course.

Flying Delta (well Endeavor Air dba Delta Connection) on a CRJ-900 today. By far the smallest plane I have ever flown on. Previous holder of that records was a 757-200 to LGA.
