Re: Planespotting
I once did a B727, B737, B757, B767, and B777 all in one journey, and I didn't even try very hard to plan it that way. I was trying to remember where I went but an old and crappy plane like the 727 must have meant a dodgy third world country. But then I remembered - it was the US in the early 2000s! Specifically Memphis, TN for the 727 (hmmm - Delta?). Continental for the trans-Atlantic 777. Cant't remember the rest except it must have been domestic US.
It's still a plane inside, no matter what you're on. The novelty soon wears off. Even the A380 loses its appeal before halfway to Singapore. |

FedEx mainline finally killed off their B727 fleet not too long ago. They were probably the last users in the USA. B757s have replaced them. You may find the odd one or two B727s out there still. Zero G have one they use for well...zero G flights (aka the "vomet comet"). I saw it at MIA the other day.

Re: Planespotting
The only 727 I've been in is the one hanging up in the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. There's a great video on the you tube of news reports from the time (early 1990s) that they landed it at Meigs for the installation. Brilliant stuff!
I always thought the 727 was a lovely looking plane though. Still gets a fair amount of use in South America as far as I know. |

I flew from Iguazu Falls to Rio on Varig, finally getting the chance to fly on an MD-11. A big shiny 777 turned up instead:thumbdown:. Not impressed!
