Fortunately, no problem in the future with the paperless office and the paperless society right around the corner.

We're supposed to be a paperless office as it is. People still want their invoices mailed to them, so as long as they do, I'll still have a chance to be careless and slice my fingers open :lol:

Here we are in tax season again :frown:
So in New York State, they now say you HAVE to e-file (OK, they reluctantly made an exception; you can still send the paper filing in the traditional way, if you do it manually and do not use tax preparation software or a paid preparer.)
So, they really want you to e-file. Why don't they have there own robust, free e-file facility up on their website? You have to pay for a commercial service to e-file?

Here is a listing of the NYS Dept of Taxation and Finance Online Services for Individuals;

Create an online account and log in to:

* Pay estimated income and manage your estimated tax account
* View and pay tax bills
* Respond to a notice
* Use Metropolitan Commuter Transportation Mobility Tax (MCTMT) Web File
* Use tax preparer registration and certificate reprint
* Report change of address
* See more information about our online services
Does not include e-filing. IDIOTS.

So who ever put this law/dictat/suggestion in place - how much money did they receive from providers of e-filing services & software?

Part of the impetus is just shifting of costs from the state to the individual (who has no choice; you must file for taxes.) I went to the public library yesterday, to pick up paper tax forms and instructions. All the Federal ones were there, but only some odd, random State ones. The main NYS Form, the IT-201, is not available at the library. So if I want the instructions, 70 pages long, I'll have to print them myself. OK, I'll print them at work.

(As I mentioned, the State starts out by saying - everyone must now e-file. Then they mention an exception; if you fill out your forms manually, i.e. do not use tax-prep software, you can still file by mail. But they are not going to make it easy for you.)

When the coffee filter folds in on itself while the water is dripping through. Whole pot of coffee full of grinds. :frown:

Does that happen often enough to become a peeve? :blink:

It does when the lazy 17 year old does it. She doesn't bother to seat the filter in right. Basically my 17 year old lazy-ass kid is my pet peeve. :lol:

Now it's starting to make sense. Can't you get re-usable filters that you just wash and put back, though that are 'stiff' for want of a better word?

I'm a tea drinker myself, but I know I've seen them in the shop.

Yeah I probably could. But then I'd have to find something else to bitch at her about - not that it would be hard to find something.

Not washing the washable coffee filter, for example ...
