Is that gelatinous dessert gatekeeping, there?

If I remember correctly from HE classes in school, both cubed and crystal form was around in the UK in the early 90s.

Really?? TBH I just used to automatically reach for the Rowntree's boxes of Jelly...can't say I looked at any other makes/types.

I'm 99.999% sure. I can't remember which kind I was using (whichever was the cheapest, I imagine ) but others were definitely dissolving crystals in a bowl of hot water in the class.

Quite a few people sit there with the car running, especially in the winter months. They just lose focus and drive off, or they think the pump attendant just removed the hose from their vehicle, but it was the one next door or behind.

I find this one of the most dangerous States to fill up with gas. Nobody is paying attention to what is going on. The attendants are too busy running around several pumps, and everyone else is on their phone.

The stations quite often stink of spilt gas.

I agree, I used to take jelly cubes out on exercise. For a country that is so much into prepardness, I'm surprised they don't have jelly cubes.

That is a disturbing lack of situational awareness

I wouldn't touch either. Rendered bones and hooves don't really appeal, and given your squeamishness over eating offal I am surprised at your willingness to eat it, no matter what form it is sold in.

:goodpost: All stretchy and hard to bite bits off of.

I'm told.

:sneaky:

Nonsense. Hooves in a set, jellied form are perfectly acceptable.

It's that barbaric powdered hoof thing that needs stamping (heh) out.

I've come to realise we're all a bunch of weirdos on here, aren't we?

It's the British way.

I'm not weird, I'm perfectly normal. :) It's just y'all who are weird.

Of course JG is only slightly weird, what with her coming from Sheffield.

It is kind of comforting, isn't it? Safety in very weird numbers.

I'm not qualified to comment either way on this one, unfortunately :D

You could always buy vegetarian jelly if you don't like boiled bones.

I have never knowing bought anything marked "vegetarian". :) .... Buying things "suitable for vegetarians" is bad enough.

I accidently bought low fat cheese once, and that was unpleasant, as was the "low fat milk" I bought by accident - it was a unpleasant grey-green colour and tasted like dishwater.

BTW the USDA does not classify gelatin as an animal product, they deem it to have been processed and purified so much that it is classified as a pure chemical.
