The right tyres can save significant amounts of fuel too.

And your life (or lives of others).

Do I need pretty green colored headlights? No!
Do I need chrome wing mirrors? No!
Do I need the ability to stop quickly and safely in all kinds of weather and road conditions?:nod:

Amen to that, with 280K on the clock I get my Corolla the best I can afford for long wear/high mileage. Most importantly is getting the insurance, whatever they call it for the tires!

I agree! I got my last set from a "Discount" tire place and bought their certificates for the tires, have already had two replaced, the only cost was to balance the new ones and the new cert. The certs paid for themselves on the first tire replacement.

Tire rack for research, discount tire for installation. Every replacement tire i have put on a Honda vehicle has improved its ride dramatically over the stock tires. I've had my best experiences with Yokohama and Kumho tires.
Arizona is the place to live if you like getting flat tires and broken windshields, so i use discount tire and purchase the tire insurance. My record in Arizona is three flats in 18 months, they managed to repair two and replace one. Discount tires stores are everywhere, I've one near work one near home. I've often driven with a slow puncture and managed to get to a store before its gone completely flat. I couldn't replace that experience with a purchase from tire rack and finding an installer.

Right, and that's something I have no interest in getting involved with. .... tirerack.com is still a good research resource though.

Any old garage would charge you what, $20-30 a wheel to put them on?

So if you're saving a couple hundred on the tyres, you're still quids in and you get the tyres you want :/

I have to admit i have been pleasantly surprised by Cooper tires, they seem to wear well and behave excellently, plus I believe they are made in the USA so a bonus there!

Worst set of tyres I've ever had.

Down to the rim in a smidge over 10K miles.

Yes, unfortunately. They're "recaps" here.

Walked in to CVS Pharmacy today.
Voice shouts out across the store.

"WELCOME TO CVS!
If you need anything just ask!"

Stop it please, just stop it! (And Home Depot, Lowe's, PetSmart....)

I was in a pharmacy today, the pharmacist was asking me why people from Europe want to come here, as our medical system is so much better
