I get really annoyed when I'm asked at a restaurant ' and how is everything for you?', before Ive had chance to eat anything..!

Also eating a single mouthful of meat won't necessarily tell me how the vegetables, potatoes etc taste either. Give me a good ten minutes or so to tuck in and then ask... - in fact don't ask me at all as you've usually moved on to the next table without waiting for my answer anyway..!

If there is anything wrong with the meal I will either a) let you know or b) tell you it was all fantastic whilst lying through my back teeth and then out in the car tell my wife we will never come back again...as would any true Brit!

I am still not used to the over zealous wait staff, it always seems to be when I am just about to put a forkful of food in my mouth when they ask.

If you insist on passing me going 45mph in a 35mph zone, please don't continue to go 45mph when it becomes a 55mph zone.

In a similar vein, I got in the exit lane to switch from one freeway to another, stuck behind a guy who acted like the speed limit was 55 instead of 60. This continued for about a mile, then the lanes doubled so I overtook him in the empty one then got into a queue of people turning off. This guy goes right past everyone, then cuts off the person at the front of the queue. So now we are on a 55mph road and he suddenly decides to go 65mph. Makes no sense at all.

Receiving a blank stare at a restaurant when asking for more water (and holding an empty water glass)....until I repeat myself and ask for 'warDer' or my wife (USC) translates for me...

(though to be fair this did happen to her once in the UK )

I just might have to stick that on a T-Shirt for 'dress down Friday' and see what responses I get...

I'm trying to think of outrageous and unacceptable things to do during my last year at work leading up to retirement, on the basis that they need me more than I need them. Preferably, neither illegal nor in contravention of the Workplace Harassment Policy. Any ideas, anyone?

Take a dump on the main entrance?

Dress the college statue up in camp gear? There has to be one, you work at a college right?

Bubble wrap the deans office?

TP bomb the footie field?

Switch the college mascot for a rivals? This seems to be a running contest between the colleges in Oxford at least.

Call everyone a wanker and give them the V-sign, no one will care (even the spell check doesn't know wanker)
