I think some apostrophes are more debatable or excusable than others. There’s a place near us that sells and installs “SPA’s.†I find that semi-ok, because the word “spas†doesn’t necessarily look like a plural of the word “spa.†Another debatable one is all-consonants, such as “WC’sâ€

Not sure what you mean - I don’t actually have a phone. I usually post to BE on my iPad, and I try to always make sure it is intelligible before posting! Sometimes weirdness creeps in with the predictive composition, though.

Very strange, someone has popped in and straightened it all out. It’s all in English now.

Yes, but I think the difference isn't as great (or numerous) as used to be the case.
It was changing a lot in the years before I moved to Canada, it looks like that has continued apace reading reports of New year celebrations last night.. So many places with no draft beers and just being given an open bottle unless specifically asking for a glass.

I wonder why peas get an apostrophe but chips don't.
