I really don't know how to answer that, I'm sure some are the same and some have changed.

Differences? I know I watched "The Bad News Bears" (1976 version) last week and throughout the whole thing I kept thinking "There's no way in hell they could make this movie now." Same thing with Blazing saddles.

I'm pretty sure there is a good deal of Euro envy on the leftern side of things...

Or do you think some of them might just be pushing back against the continual erosion of some basics like improved infrastructure?

You don't think the US's infrastructure (I'm guessing you mean roads, communications, etc...) has improved since the '70's?

I find the US's infrastructure is not first world in many respects.

IMHO the biggest difference between then and now, on both sides of the pond is that then they used to at least pay lip service to the idea that they were the servants of the people, whereas now they don't even bother pretending.

That was a poor word choice; I don't mean just roads, communications and that use of 'infrastructure'. I mean, basic cost of living infrastructure, including health care and retirement funding.

The way I see it, the Repubs are simply crossing their arms over their chests, acting like sore losers, and are refusing to play.

That being said, both sides are acting like petulant little children that throw a fit when things don't go their way. The politicians are not there to help us, they are they to help themselves & keep a job. Those few who actually might try to speak some sense will likely be voted out because people won't like to hear the plain, honest truth.

But I'll admit, I am not the most politically savvy person and probably tend to look at things very naively, so I probably don't understand much of the crap that keeps getting tossed back and forth.

This may sound like a Tea Party point I don't know. But what you said SG is very true, IMO. Throw in the lobbyists, the experts and the ridiculous pork barrel crap and what starts out as a good thing gets turned into some unwieldy piece of legislation that the original sponsors of the bill would hardly recognize. I am not so naive to think that everything is all above board (ie give a little to get a little) and the elected consider themselves my servants. However it seems to me across the board AND party lines that the majority of these people consider themselves to be Marie Antoinette reincarnated.

I don't want any cake God damn it and don't consider me dumb enough to be fobbed off so easily.

I was reading about how Mossad is being accused of again using forged British passports in their latest action after being told off about it before.

Cutting and running because of a current politcal regime is not something I would consider unless I knew my life was in danger.

I lived here through the Dubbyuh administration so I think I can make it thru the Palin administration. It'll be quite entertaining seeing her in debate again. Then again that EVIL former potential son-in-law Levi just might ave something more up his sleeve to reveal about the Palin clan. :sneaky:

What an entertaining brood they are!

Perhaps Sarah could squeeze another out before next election? The kids have nature (Willow, Piper), hunting (Track, Trig...is that short for Trigger?), and Cockney rhyming slang (Bristol) names so what could they possibly name the next?

You're over my head here Meauxna. What is the goal of this push, what do they wish to accomplish? Who are they pushing back against? Republicans? The evil greedy corporations? They are the usual suspects and certainly they have dirty hands, but I tend to think it goes deeper than that, and won't be so easily repaired.

Truer words couldn't be spoken, and you're right, they'd never be elected. The American public really only has itself to blame for that.

That's why I'd welcome the moment of truth your campaign would bring. It would force us to decide once and for all whether we are permanently committed to the path of ignorance, of birthers, truthers and tea-party incoherence you represent, or whether we will at last turn back from the cliff toward which we race."

I'm with Pitts on this one: run, Sarah, run!

Sarah Palin is the stupidest dumb woman ever put on this earth :rofl::rofl::rofl:
