The OTHER 'R' Word...

Re: The OTHER 'R' Word...
f-uck-wit usually suffices for those septics that annoy me ....
The wife (septic) actually called somebody she works with "a cloth eared bint" the other day ....apparently you could have heard a pin drop .....she's learning though

Despite my varied use of the English language, that is one word I hate to hear, it IMO is far more offensive than any vulgarity and I think it is outdated and wrong to use it.

Re: The OTHER 'R' Word...
Another perfectly usable workable word that the Willmores of this world have suddenly deemed offensive. When kids start calling their mates "Mentally challenged" when their mates do something daft that word will be banned by the "Knit your own yoghurt brigade" too.....and they invented it.

Thankfully falling out of use in the UK but still seems to be used a lot in the US.

OK. In the name of political correctness I will endeavour to never use the words retard or handicapped ever again.
I'll call them window lickers instead.

Re: The OTHER 'R' Word...
Mentally or physically handicapped people in the UK are now labelled as having a learning difficulty or disability.

I do find the word 'retarded' somewhat offensive. There's also, "he rides the short bus".
Back home, we used to call people a Benny, or a Joey. I don't know where Benny came from. Possibly Crossroads?
Joey was from Joey Deacon, a nice guy with some disabilities. Used to see him a lot on Blue Peter.
His shoe fell off a ship once.
There was also 'spaz', a contraction of spastic. That's a nasty sounding word.
And Melly, I think the word you're trying to use is "ghey". There's a slight pause before you say the 'g'. Typical usage would be "Dallas Cowboys are teh ghey." - Note deliberate misspelling of 'the'.
"Georgia Power has caught teh ghey."

Joey was universal.
Accompanied with tongue shoved into your bottom lip and arm drawn up to chest whilst waving your hand.
Going "Aauu-auugh"
Wonderful time to be brought up.

I think flid came from thalidomide.
My sister used to call me a 'stiff'. I think that means nerd. That's cause I didn't wear those moccasin slipper things that were all the rage for a while. And the pinstriped jeans.
God, I saw a picture of me the other day in my old passport. I looked like Egon Spengler from Ghostbusters.
Thanks for the chuckle with the hand thing!
