OT Light Humor
OK we need some.
This may be funny to no one but me, but I'm 12 days out from trial and a little in the zone ATM.
Is it just me, or does anyone else see titles like "Married to a Canadian - Please HELP!" or In Love with a Boy from Xaire - HELP ME!" and just for a brief moment in time before you read the post wonder what exactly the person is trying to get help with -- immigration or relationship? It reminds me of those banner titles that used to appear on the True Romance magazines, honest.
I know that the first time I saw one of these, I wanted to post: "I can't help you, I have never been married to anyone from <fill in the blank here> but I'm sure they are nice people! "
As I said, it might be funny to nobody but me. But I've noticed it a few times in the last few days
Has anyone else ever noticed any thread titles that made you do a doubletake?
Oh well, back to expert witness prep I go

Fortunately for this lawyer, most removal hearings are of what the "real" lawyers call "short cause" -- a LONG hearing will take several half-days.
Nonetheless, my better half recently was discussing something with me and paused in anger and said "you're not listening" and I replied "I've got a trial tomorrow" -- and she then said -- "OK, we'll talk in two days" -- she knows my mind is in a different space the night before and I'm dead to the world from exhaustion the night after.
However, I once made an appearance as a favor for my brother in probate court on a trial which was supposed to be continued. Instead the trial went forward and I was stuck there for four days. Fortunately, the entire first day was taken up with the direct testimony of the person challenging the will AND I represented only ONE of the beneficiaries of the will [e.g. there were three lawyers at defense table]. I do NOT recommend trial prep during lunch and the first evening of a four day trial. BTW, we won.
I have forgiven my brother and have warned my niece [a lawyer now for two years] to be careful of her dear old dad asking for favors.

Giggle ... Debbie I was thinking of the same post when I started reading DA's post.
Don't worry Angel, you're not alone. I do wonder what they are talking about before I open up the thread, and I start envisioning topics from a bad talk show (i.e. Geraldo Rivera or Sally Jesse Raphael)
