Default OT -- don't trust the government

Hi:

In a lawyer discussion group today, we got into clients who say "But DHS told me...". One of the finest immigration lawyers in Vermont posted the following:

I filed Schweiker v Hansen
I fought the law and the law won
I fought the law and the law won

I needed the money 'cause I had none
I fought the law and the law won
I fought the law and the law won

I trusted the feds and I feel so sad
I filed late, my time had run
Equitable 'stoppel's all I ever had
I fought the law and the law won
I fought the law and the law won

They screw people just for fun
I fought the law and the law won
I fought the law and the law won

I missed the deadline, now I'm done
I fought the law and the law won
I fought the law and the law won

Relying on their advice is real bad
Poor ol client has been hung
Now at his lawyer he is hopp'n mad
I fought the law and the law won
I fought the law and the law won

Remember that you have no right to rely on what the US government tells you; the Supreme Court has said so [Schweiker v Hansen]

with acknowlegement.
