Next in the US

Yes, I ordered four items for my husband for Christmas. They arrived promptly, all for $10 (that's what you pay for shipping regardless I believe) and we were very pleased. Now the guys at work accuse my husband of being a metrosexual while the girls think he looks pretty darned good.
I really didn't think they were that expensive. They were selling the same merchandise that was available when I was in the UK and the prices were the same on some items at least.

Ah - we don't use bleach. Are you using bleach? That's definitely harder on the clothes but I still wouldn't expect them to wear out so quickly.

I still have some next shirts and trousers from when I moved here almost 14 years ago.
The thing is - and I'm generalizing, of course - Next styles don't seem to translate to the US. Whenever I wore my Next stuff, people thought I was teh ghey.

Could it be a difference in our washers, I wonder? I just asked my husband about his and he said he has t-shirts that are 5-10 years old without holes. That's really wild and unfortunate.

I don't think they can be beaten for quality though.

That really stinks. Crazy idea - have you tried contacting Banana Republic, etc? Their clothes are too expensive for them to fail like that, that's unacceptable. Maybe you'll get something out of it or at least will alert them to a problem.

But why when you pay $60 for a top is it acceptable for it to get a f**ing hole in.
Sorry peeps, I'm getting very annoyed with it all and this whole Next ordering business aint helping. I used to love shopping too, but the whole hole thing is ruining it for me

Got a BR suit for $65 the other day after a couple of loyalty discounts on top of Tuesday sales discount and using their store card....don't even get suited and booted to go out these days either but it'll come in handy for a wedding this summer I suppose.

Nope, its a front loader, but its a dryer too and I find more holes when I've used the dryer!
Time for a new one I guess, it's DH's probably 20 years old anyway!

That's exactly what I thought Tracy because I bought a lot of home wares from Next over the years, expecially their towels which I've had for years and they're still going strong. From the website, I think at the minute it's only clothes - what a bummer!!!!!
