I have a general question about Netflix. My husband works in LA most of the time while I stay home in Phoenix. He's recently become interested in watching the Spartacus Starz series, and we noticed he can access my account from LA, and I can access my account from Phoenix, and we can both watch different things on Netflix streaming, at the same time. Does Netflix care, or will they find out and stop it somehow?

My mistake, it was TW who had a stake in the shares...and I didn't say owned outright, just that they had shares.

Sorry to nit pick but that link doesn't detail TW's share ownership in Netflix. All it talks about is NBC's licensing deal which is similar to deals Netflix has to make with all content holders it wants to distribute and is the reason why subscription costs are rising (my original point). Can't be many shares otherwise I would think they would be listed.

Actually they do care and they will cancel your account if you constantly break their TOS. You may not be breaking them and I don't know how it works with streaming only plans but right now if you are on one of the unlimited disc plans that includes streaming you are only allowed to concurrently stream the amount of discs your plan is for. So if you are on a 1 disc at a time plan, you can only stream to one device at a time. If you are on a 3 disc plan, you can stream up to 3 devices concurrently.
Oh! That's interesting...I had no idea. I'm on the 1-disc at a time plus unlimited streaming plan. So it seems the only problem is if both hubby and I want to watch streaming at the same time....we should wait for one of us to be done, then the other can watch something....even though we're not using the same device. Right?
We've only done this a couple of times, so hopefully won't be an issue. I'll have to remember to check with him (or him with me) in the future.

Here's the thing: we've had a Netflix subscription for the last four years, and we've never ever had a problem with streaming on multiple devices at the same time. If Netflix really did care, we would have either heard about it before now, or our subscription would have been cancelled by the company for "abuse".

Hubby is way too busy most of the time anyway, he mostly watches stuff on a Sunday afternoon if he's not napping. LOL

I'm on the unlimited streaming and 7 dvd package (5 of us getting dvds) and my bill will actually go down a few dollars in Sept.

Just been looking at Vudu...Walmart's equivalent of Netflix. Prices look pretty good.

For those that use Amazon to order things a lot, they have a good deal that gives you unlimited movie and tv video streaming for $79 per year (about $6.50 per month) and you get free unlimited 2 days shipping on anything ordered from Amazon.

Make sure your streamer supports Amazon. My tv supports everything but Amazon (about 40 different video streaming services) but I suspect that should be available shortly on the next update. However my tv also has a built in browser so I suspect I could still use Amazon video streaming service.

It appears that Amazon doesn't currently support a video streaming capability for streamers. That means you need to use the "Window Media Center", an XBox360, or a computer to watch movies on your tv.

That is good to know that they do support video streamers. I didn't look on my Sony blue ray player to see if Amazon is supported (same as yours but doesn't have wireless so suspect it also supports Amazon). I just assumed that since my TV didn't support Amazon and Amazon didn't mention that they supported streamers on their web site that Amazon didn't have a streamer application that manufacturers could use for streaming.
