LOL -- there's any other size? Those Aussies know what size to make a wine bottle!

Not wine...my drink of choice is Grand Marnier. Sold in .75 litre, 1 litre and 1.75 litre bottles. Always best to buy the largest size...saves hubby money.

It's good to be thrifty.

Why can't we get any decent emergencies around here?

I didn't think you needed an excuse to hit the cooking sherry.

That's just for day to day annoyances. A proper emergency would require some good stuff.

And here I am, living in the bleedin' tundra, and can I get a snow emergency? No, I cannot.

Get yourself down here to NJ...I'll buy an extra bottle. If the snowstorm doesn't turn out to be an emergency...I'm sure we can create one.

Well? Is it snowing yet? When does the emergency officially start?

No snow as yet. Our cake supply, however, is somewhat depleted.

Always good to get out in front of an emergency. You'll want to be properly fortified for when the snow starts.

For those of us in the tri-state area, it is already snowing and has been since around 6:30 am. Getting into mid-town NYC wasn't bad at all. Now going home will be a different story, unfortunately.

For emergencies, I have a lovely bottle of Godiva Chocolate Liquer at home and some Bailey's, Southern Comfort and lots of Finger Lake wines.

Safe driving. Glad we all seem to have emergency supplies.

Latest forcast here is for snow to land by 10am... Few inches, then 15 -20 more tonight.

We are on the cusp so it is still iffy as to what or how much we will be getting. Some stations think 6 to 10 inches while others are saying 10 to 18 inches. Either way, my stove uses gas, so will still be able to cook and bake if the electricity goes out, have filled the tub with water for flushing the toilet, the laptop is recharging, my nook is fully charged and I have actual "hold the book" books to read and my knitting and jigsaw puzzle to keep me awake and active. So, I'm prepared for just about anything. Now if only there were a good man around for company ;-(

It started to snow here in the north country around 10pm last night, so it was wicked bad by morning. Took me forever to dig the car out so I got to work about an hour late. Fortunately for us, it is much colder than in southerly, coastal areas (here it is currently 5 degrees, while Boston is apparently 33 degrees.) This means we are getting the light, fluffy stuff that is a breeze to shovel and drive through whereas Boston, coastal areas etc. are probably getting it heavy and wet..
