IFC is another good channel. I don't get that any more as I cut my cable bill after I lost my job
AMC and Turner Movie Channel are good if you like old movies as I do. Don't get them anymore either after the cable bill slashing
HBO is good for boxing which is one of my interests.
We watched this documentary on HBO last week if you have it;

I watched "A Walk Into the Sea" on Sundance or IFC (can't remember now) the other night. It was a glimpse into the New York art scene of the 1960's. It focused on an ex-lover of Andy Warhol's who went missing.
Here's a good bit of it:

I don't have HBO but I think their documentaries are top notch.

if it weren't for the football on Cable then I'd dump the TV in a heartbeat and just stick to netflix.

I agree and this documentary really showed what a piece of shit he was ... without even having to try. Selfish, fake, narcissist who used and abused everybody around him and took credit for their work.

They just made a movie about one such person.

On my list to rent, but I have a problem stomaching Andy Warhol, even when played as a character

I think most people down here aren't paying for their satellite; it seems all the Dish network installers will hook you up with all the channels (i.e. illegal FTA boxes) for a few hundred $$$.

I tend to only watch a couple of shows on TV and that's only because my 4 month old goes mad if I sit down so have to carry him around the house until he falls asleep so may as well watch TV or listen to music.

TVU has always worked better than Sopcast for me, you might want to give that a try.
