My Wife is ready to try something I've wanted for a long time.
That's right, when the TV goes digital she's ready to get rid of it totally. We'll keep the 32in LCD that we got Christmas (Thanks Mom and Dad!) but just hook it up to the DVD/VCR/Wii etc...
I've been anti TV for a long time, but she's always been the type that has to have one (or more than one:curse on "for background noise" just about every waking hour. It seems what finally got to her were the incessant male enhancement/viagra/stool softener type ads.
We'll see how it goes. Anyone else planning the same or already TV free?

Been TV-free for a couple of years. Watch movies on the 'puter, and the occasional show on hulu or similar... Life is much better.

We probably actually watch much less TV than many. There are a couple of shows the kids liked (Amazing Race, Chuck, and a couple others I can't recall) but we only get two network channels on our rabbit ear setup anyway, and we don't have cable or sat so this is really just the final step.

We've talked about it off and on, even cancelled everything but the local channels. My main concern with getting rid of the tv is lack of info about incoming weather. In this area (& in your area too, ABY), it's a must to know about severe weather coming in, esp due to tornados. How do you anticipate receiving your weather info?

In preparation for this I purchased the first season of "Little House on the Prarie" last night. If the kids whine about missing TV I'll put that on. Everybody likes LHotP.

Why are you anti-TV. What are you hoping to acheive or just plain why I feel another Ruby Ridge coming on
