Don't the shakes liquidate all the useful fibre?
Love Kale in my salads:)

I am active during the day but find myself seated for hours each evening here behind the monitor and keyboard.

With the kitchen just 12 feet away I need to seriously change what is readily available, starting I fear with less wine.

20 years ago I dropped 40 lbs with a strict regiment of diet and running, now however 5 miles a day is out of the question.

So I suppose long evening walks with the old dog are on tap.

Next stop 170 lbs.

Admit, it's actually BE -> game threads. :p

It does mush up the kale but the fibre is all still there. It thickens the shake. It's juicing that removes all the fibre which is a waste of good vegetables. I have a juicer and only use it when vegetables are going to be thrown out - celery, carrots and apples.
My OH thinks I am weird as I could live on green vegetables, a plate of cabbage, kale, broccoli or brussel sprouts - yummy.. and no gunk on them - just as they are!

Wish I could be more like that. Can't stand broccoli or kale raw but can eat when they're cooked - I put kale in soups and add it cooked to pasta dishes. Sprouts I cant even deal with.

Although I have heard that one can re educate their taste buds.

I'd say a pretty good rate of loss, 17 lbs in 7 weeks! Was it only wine you cut out of your diet? And just lots more walks with the old dog for exercise?

Bet the dog is happy, even if Dorothy isn't.... ;)

Breakfast/lunch was cut from 1100 calories down to 700. Dinners veggies either steamed or stir fried without butter, usually apple cider vinegar added at the end.

21 of 20 down and will continue for a couple weeks more to see what happens.
I am fairly confident that I can keep them off as I did before, just need to stay disciplined.

Ah, so you've done some modest "tweaks" to your intake too....

And you exceeded your goal, good job!

Well I'm done. Wanted to drop 20 and ended up dropping 32 lbs. down to 158, which is less than I weighed after basic training in the air force 38 years ago.

Now it is on to weight maintenance which I have a good plan for.

Final thought...I was apparently 32 lbs overweight:o, An unpleasant fact to face, but good for the willpower.

Over the past 6 months I've packed on a few kg - ok, maybe more than a few. However I have vowed to get rid of the excess weight and get back to feeling like I should. Time to pull my bicycle out of the garage and pump up the tires I think.
