I hope this doesnt read the wrong way
but at times like that, the posters should take a short holiday back to the UK or whereever they moved from. Just to remind them and re-fresh their memories of why they immigrated in the first place.

Well, his memories would only go back a month or so.. they only just moved here.
Reads to me like reality smacking fantasy in the face. Happens to the best of us.

So you want to move to another country where the economy is even worse than in the UK, and sink all your cash into a risky venture. You'll be working all hours just to make ends meet, and be virtually peniless until (and if) you make any money.

Doesn't sound 'better' to me.

Maybe, but that's assuming that you are able to do that. Most people can't jet back whenever they feel like it because of various reasons, time off work and money being the big ones.

Lighten up a little !!!
I post an opening (my first ever) specific to somebody who wishes to travel the same trail I did years ago (I have the map!) and ......suddenly I am the villain of the piece.
If I shared everything I have experienced, my post would read like a novel (War and Peace maybe) and I have no intention of writing a book!
I get accused of being "spamish". Sounding like a realtor...
Too much deception has challenged your objectivity.
Let "Marco Island member" judge for himself and respond in his own way.

It was your first post asking someone to get in touch with you....that is very spammish.

Most people when they come across the site either introduce themselves first or ask a few questions and introduce themselves rather than dive into a dead couple of week old thread.

Maybe when things calm down in a few years the government will make immigration laws more sensible, and i'll re-consider!

I seem to recall a thread made here that listed all the reasons of why one can't emigrate to the U.S. and I believe one of them was, "you can't emigrate here just because you want to"

As for immigration reform, that has a chance of happening much like Nick Griffin BNP will be the next Prime Minister. Possible? Theoretically yes. Is it actually going to happen? I have higher chances of winning the lottery (Power Ball, not DV Lottery btw)

If I was marcoisland I would go for it. (well we are!)
People can only guide and advise you so much, to an extent.
If everyone took all the negatives with immigrating, nobody would move outside their home country.
For most people. I would immediately see health insurance as being the main, objective/problem/worry or concern. But have a plan and build from that.
If it's your destiny then it will certainly happen. That's just (IMHO)
