After many years, of like many of you suffering from Mr Mosie I was not impressed with the amount of the buggers flying around here on the Bayou.

I have the Glade/Johnson plug in sent via a chap on ebay you know the blue tabs.

Its says that they are not compatible (THE PLUGS) in the US but we got an adapter and played with the plug and now the house is Mosquito free :)
I called Johnson and Glade here in the US and they said that it was not aloud to be sold in the States something out the ingredients

No...its standing water...usually stagnant that attracts them. Besides the pool contains chlorine.

Which reminds me. Mossies can carry West Nile Virus.

If this works for me then I shall be sending you heaps of karma :)

Otherwise I shall continue to wear my bubble suit and be Michelin Man's clone!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. It certainly worked for me, mossies and horse/deer flies are my main problem in NJ.

The first year I was here I was out for an hour and got bitten over 60 times on my legs despite being covered head to toe. Apparently they like certain blood groups more than others (I'm an A-). Without a doubt the Avon skin so soft stuff is the best and believe me I've tried them all. It only costs a couple of bucks, got no nasty deet in it, and boy does it work.

I am O+. The trouble with creams and sprays is that if you miss a little bit of skin, they will zoom in on that area. Apart from my toe story, I once missed spraying under my arm and the little buggers found it, ouch!

I think it has more to do with how sweet your blood is. Also, I read recently that if you have a naturally higher body temperature it makes you more attractive to mossies too.

Thanks, Jerseygirl, for the website. I'm certainly going to take a good look at that.

You're all soft buggers. Until they start carrying malaria into this country count yourselves lucky.
Now, when I was in Africa ......

Avon's Skin so soft has always worked well for me and it doesn't stink like those nasty deet products.

The longer I'm here though..the more resistant I seem to be. My first couple of years here, I would swell up something awful!
