Memorial Day weekend?

Memorial Day weekend?
So what are you lot doing this weekend?
Next town to ours did the parade and fireworks last week. They swap around with local towns to avoid to much traffic disruption, and sometimes swap 4th July fireworks...meh.
As for us, we're heading to a fiberfest out in western Mass, way the hell out there, but should be fun, the missus likes spinning so a good chance to get some new supplies and if nothing else, the little one loves petting the angora bunny rabbits and baby sheep.

Sadegh will be home for the long weekend, but we have no special plans. Just watching movies, cooking, eating, and relaxing.
My sister would LOVE that fiberfest! Do you have more info, or is there a website? She's not close enough to go now, but maybe she can plan ahead if they do it every year.
Have fun!

Going to a wedding tonight after work then driving up to Portland, ME for a few nights. Amble about a bit, maybe grab a boat out to one of the islands and generally bugger about in brewpubs etc. Shall be on the lookout for the cask version of Ringwood Old Thumper*!

Last weekend here, have a farewell thingy Saturday night, good excuse for a party! loads of 'make-up' stuff needs doing in the house and then Monday getting ready for the packers Tuesday.
lots of nooky too
Also have to find some time to take the new escape to the dealers, I got a recall letter yesterday, something to do with the transmission
Have fun all you guys getting away, hope you have great weather, good times and take some pics for the roadtrip thread

Not going away here - but since the weather is currently mid nineties and sunny hoping to get a few hours in by the pool
When not doing that, got a ton of sorting out and stuff to do getting ready for our move at the end of June - back to Dorset, not more than about 10 miles from Ringwood brewery...
My sister recently visited and got us started on geocaching, so might also try and bag a few local caches too....

Cummington, it's about 20 mins north of Northampton. Every year about the end of May, it's only $8 entry for a car so going with friends and it's a real bargain and plenty of room to camp and they have a huge pot luck supper.
Lot of fun, it's massive too, lots of different types of fleeces, raw fleeces, loads of spinning wheels, tools, the works and a lot of great food too, had fantastic lamb burgers last year which was a little weird
They do a massive summer fair too later in the year which is pretty fun, but it's a little out there for evening stuff.

Geocaching is pretty fun too. Friend in Maine took me along for one when we went hiking, had this box where people put a photo of another view of Maine, that was pretty cool, some awesome photos.

BBQ, BBQ and more BBQ. Hubby bought a Thomas the Tank style rig last year and has been amassing accessories at an alarming rate over the winter. Today he is spending his day off smoking ribs in his work car park for his colleagues. More BBQ planned for tomorrow, Sunday and Monday!
I don't mind too much really, but the mess spreads into the house what with the rubs and sauces that get made and the charcoal use, and I find black and orange smears on paintwork, doors, and just about every item in the pantry and fridge he has touched. Event he cat ends up smelling like smoke!

Yeah, I think we'll keep on with the geocaching - we're finding it fun. We did one in San Antonio last weekend where you had to get a picture of yourself on the Alamo webcam to get the credit - which was a real hoot!
It's a pretty grainy picture - but it's me & my sister in front of the Alamo...

Hoping to head up to Grand Canyon for a quick visit. Both G/F and I are super busy with work so didn't have time to book anything; looking now for last minute deals at the hotels.
If nothing else, we'll watch the Celtics/Magic game tonight, and the Lakers/Suns game tomorrow night. I've suddenly been turned into a basketball fan, what with all the excitement over the Suns here in PHX ... last night's game was absolutely fantastic, even though the Suns lost in the last 0.000001 second!
Other than that, we'll probably extend our unbroken run of dining out ... we've been down in Scottsdale for 2 weeks so far and have yet to cook! We are finding more and more great restaurants here, comparable in quality to the Bay Area ...
