Medium Rare

Twice now we've had restaurants refuse to serve us a burger any way other than "well done."
I don't usually participate in those "oh dear looks what's become of Britain" threads, but WTF?
Both told us it's illegal to serve burgers medium-rare. But I've since discovered that it's not illegal, just restaurant policy. Makes me wonder where they are getting their meat.
This is such a stupid country, filled with stupid people who learned customer service from watching Fawlty Towers.

BTW what country are you referring to?
I don't eat anything made from ground/minced/preformed mystery meats...you don't know what parts of the animal are in there.

It's CYA for the restaurant, they don't want you coming back and suing them for getting sick from E-Coli. Much as I love a little pink I wouldn't eat a pink middle burger anymore.

Ground/minced meat is likely to be contaminated...therefore to guard against an E. coli and salmonella poisoning burgers should be thoroughly cooked ie not red or pink inside. What is stupid about that?
