Maggots..
#46
When I was a kid my buddy and I would go fishing. We'd stop by the fishing store and buy maggots which were obviously sold as bait. Some of the maggots were dyed red or yellow to attract the fish, they were still alive as it was probably food dye.
As 11 or 12 year old kids we'd get bored once we reached the pond, ate our sandwichwes, drank our flask of tea and sat there staring at the fish float without a bite.
Our party piece to amuse each other was to sniff a live maggot up our nose and then produce it live and wriggling on our stuck out tongues. Kids are dirty little bastards when you think about it, at least I was

Samba,
Sorry to hear about your experience.
The same thing happened to us in our first summer. Like you, we checked everywhere.
Turned out that it was meat scraps I had put in the bin. It only takes a few days.
Since then, any scraps are bagged and go straight in the wheelie bin.
No problems since, until I forgot a few weeks ago. More maggots! Yuk!
The little blighters can get a long way in a short time!
Hope your infestation is all sorted out now.

They were finished but the developer had gone bust and due to a loophole in the contract all but about 6 buyers had pulled out of the deal. At night 99% of the building was in darkness. From what saw of Florida it's a real mess...half built buildings everywhere incl. condos, shops, offices etc.
