What's with buying the whole new kitchen.
Sorry, for me it all looked too faked and staged.
Too much like all the rest of the American reality crap.
Such a pity, I really liked his UK series.
I suppose we have more of the same to follow.

and the kitchen was unnecessary and over the top. typical American tv. (and i am American) just like deal or no deal. i started watching it in the uk and was shocked and appalled when i saw the us version. wtf howie mandel? wtf is up with the families coming on? and the models? argh! :curse:
but yes, i was disappointed in KN because i thought it would be as good as the UK version, which it wasn't, but I'll still watch it because I like the premise.

I'm sorry, but that just isn't true! Don't let his TV personality fool you; he is one of the best chefs in the world - there just isn't ANY debate on that. If I am right, he got most of his Michelin stars before he was a major celeb, so he must be doing something right. I'm 75% sure you are playing devils advocate here so I wont rise to the Delia comment also.
I worked in the restaurant industry when I was much younger and BOY if you ever wanted to meet a bunch of frustrated, angry, impotent ego-maniacs than all you had to do was pop into the kitchen of a five star restaurant.
I have not many myself, but I am sure there are exceptions to the rule. But ignoring that 0.02% of nice, decent, lovable 'career' chefs, the rest are pompus, meanspirited bastards - the lot of them.
I remember nearly coming to blows with one because my customer had DARED - how very DARE he - to order salad on the side instead of the saute potatoes.

I'm not watching this show anymore...too many ad breaks and something about the show seems staged. Gonna watch the UK version instead, hopefully its better.
