The side with the pool looks a lot nicer, we used to have a pool like that, we loved it. Dh used to get in it to clean it and w'd swim at night when it was bit cooler. (Ah those were the days)
Sounds like a brilliant savings plan you have going on and then renting it out later will bring in more income too
Funny I can imagine the kids getting excited for the pizza delivery
Mine do too, we rarely get delivery, or even store bought pizza for that matter. So anything like that gets the little one all giddy.

Love it
Having a roof over your head and being together is all that counts mate, and there are so many pluses for you as well as you pointed out.
I bet you love the short commute to work after your previous long haul.
Another plus is now you are out of your camper we wont be subjected to your near naked pictures on FB

Aww! I'm so glad to hear you finally have your family back together
I love your new 'home' believe it or not, I have always wanted to live in a trailer, some of them are HUGE inside with very luxurious interiors
Sounds like a great plan for the future ABY, the kids will soon be loving it there and inviting all their new friends over to play in the pool
Did I miss this in one of your posts? How much land do you own? would it be possible for you to build a home on it? Sounds like a great project for you and I think Herpes is free now!!

It's just 2.25 acres. I've thought about building on it if it turns out we like the location well enough. The problem is that we wouldn't get squat for the trailer itself if we sold it, so we'd actually have paid a helluva lot of $$ for a 2.25 acre lot.
Our intial intention was to rent for a year or so but that didn't work out due to market related circumstances here in KY. Back in MO it was a total buyer's market in our area. No jobs, plenty of places just like ours for sale, prices were dirt cheap. We got extremely lucky in that the couple who made us the offer were relatively local (from a larger town about 30mi north) had been looking for a place in the country for a while, the Mr. seemed to share many of my interests and I think when he saw all my "stuff" laying around it started his wheels turning. It helped that their daughter and grandkids live a couple miles away. It was also rather fortunate that they had good credit and 20% down sitting in their bank.
The situation down here is directly the opposite, which was to our detriment. My organization coming in is adding an estimated 5000 people to the local population. Dropping that many people into a smallish town, most within a 3-5 month window, had the effect of diving up both the cost of houses for sale and the price of rent, if you could find a vacancy at all. We started looking at rentals, but soon found the few places available were wanting crazy money, a three bed trailer similar to ours, but in horrible condition and set in a trailer park was $700/mo. Not that we could have moved there anyway, they had a no pets policy and I figured with the turmoil I was already putting my kids through, I didn't want to get rid of their dog and cat unless it was that or a box in the park.
The longer we looked the more buying (and buying cheap) seemed to make sense.

Congrats ABY on getting the move done and the family reunited!
May I kindly suggest a storm cellar. After all, you are in tornado alley in a trailer..we all know what a tornado magnet trailers are.
