what a lovely post ....its great to hear how the little positives in life make you feel so much better... and a great way of supporting other people who are in a similar situation and offering lots of encouragement. Thanks! And congrats to your daughter.

Well during my low points last year in Australia, all I wanted to do was to come home and buy my youngest daughter her first car and teach her to drive (for those who don't know we had to endure 12 months being seperated from her because she hated Oz and returned to UK after just six weeks - older daughter was at uni so we had to stay - heartbreak year).
We arrived back in the UK to be re-united with her just three days before her 18th birthday, bought her a little car and today SHE PASSED HER TEST!!
It's like a huge milestone for me as it's like I'm just truly home and soooo happy
Sorry but just wanted to share it with everyone

I remember when mine passed their test. You really feel like they have flown the coop.
Well done to her!

Congratulations to your daughter Louise
My eldest daughter was 18 last month and we bought her a little runaround. She passed her test a fortnight ago. I haven't seen much of her since! But it saves me running her around everywhere.
My 17 year old son is now learning
Now that is scary!
Lets hope our kids have many years of fun and safe driving.

Many congratulations on your daughter passing her test, its family moments like those which I'm sure make you glad that you returned to the UK.
