From the URL, that bottom image is of 'antifa Berlin', so it probably isn't a coincidence that a German anti-fascist movement happened to use the same flag as the original German anti-fascist movement. Neither of which are the American antifa group you're so scared of discussing here.

Furthermore, your issue is with anarchists acting violently. I'm not an anarchist and I don't condone violence, that group doesn't speak for me, nor I them. 'Antifa' simply means anti-fascist though, isn't every single person posting in this thread anti-fascist or have I missed something?

I would reenact something a bit different though. Dressing up like my father and running around pretending to shoot at people who shot at him in real life would just feel strange. Couldn't we just reenact a Bob Marley concert or something?

Historical reenactments are harmless enough, I suppose. Not my bag, personally but it is what it is.

This is not my father, but it is his regiment in WWII in Africa. He drove one of these. Not sure about the umbrella though.

My granda was in the Navy during the war, but I don't think we have any pictures of him in service, sadly.

I mean your father and his compatriots would likely not understand why anyone would want to reenact what they had to go through but I do have a hard time faulting someone for taking an interest in history all the same.

No, I don't mind them taking an interest in history as long as it's not manipulated for their own ends. It wasn't a game to them at all. His own father died young as a result of WWI injury (not in the war, but later).

I do have pics of my father in the war, but not posting them here obviously.
