Yes, after it dumps all that on you, the front moves on to us tomorrow night and whacks down another 10 inches to add to our 20+ that's barely melted. Wet heavy snow or alternating sleet & snow... maybe both.

I think when all's said and done it should really be in the 10-11" range but yes, snow sucks.

We've had 32" so far this week and looking at another 8-12" on Monday.

Some years in Maine most of the snow falls in the mountains and hardly any here at the coast. This year it's mostly the other way around

It's crazy. Our summer is returning this week...80's...

Butterfly flew by me this afternoon. The house flies haven't scarpered yet.

Yeah, same for us to the south of you. The usual pattern has been that our coastal area has a buffering of milder temperatures when the inland areas are4 getting the extremes of hot & cold weather.... And we hardly ever get more than a bare half-foot of snow when the interior gets a foot or more. Not this winter, though!

One of the snowplow guys was exclaiming over how much we have now on the roads. He said hadn't seen this much snow in the 8 yrs since he started doing this plowing work.

Six inches for us overnight. And a peeve about snow. Our street is the main one that goes into the neighborhood so the city will plow our street which sounds great. But in reality the plows lob icy boulders up against everyone's driveway. Once the plows have been back and forth several times overnight and the temps have dipped down sufficiently one has to chip away at a well constructed wall of icy dirty boulders in order to get out of the driveway. You daren't leave it as the longer its left the more robust it becomes. Bah.

I got up early to shovel a few inches because our snow was predicted to turn to sleet and I wanted to clear the drive before a heavy crust developed on top. Sure enough, bare minutes after I came back inside, it began sleeting like mad.

The husband & I have bets on as to whether the garbage truck will make collections today.....

More snow coming Thursday. And next Monday. And today's storm hasn't finished yet.

How's everyone doing now?

Our sleet storm finally changed over to snow and ended last night. It's beautiful out now, bright sunshine & no wind whatsoever (rare here)....

But the end of our driveway became a total lake yesterday and now it's superthick, superslick ice, since the temperature is only about 8F.

My ice melt product claims that it works in temps of 10F & above. So right now I'm waiting....

Plus 2-3 more inches tonight. Oh goodie. Even after 25 years here, I still hate the Winters.

We ended up with 15" in the far northern 'burbs. I didn't see the newer forecast before the snow started, the one I had seen was showing 10-11" for the area. Left me with quite a bit of egg on my face though, didn't it?

This is like February of 2013 all over again. We had no snow to speak of until about the 1st, then we got something like 40" between then and early March.

I, too, hate the winters here (only 10 years for me though). Don't mind the cold but snow just pisses me off. I work for a landscaper (accounting) and we do snow plowing in the winter. Every time we start to make some headway with our cash flow, it dumps 6+ inches on us and payroll goes through the roof. Gahhhh.

Yeah, we got a bit more near the lake.
Still, at least the temperatures are more bearable this year than last.

Much warmer, indeed. That being said, I'd take a -45F wind chill over 15" of snow any day of the week.
