Depending on budget and what you like, but on the cheaper end of things, end of March, nice time to visit Maine, around Bar Harbor when things start to open up but season isn't open yet so very quiet and cheap but usually pleasant enough weather to get out and hike or go on the water.

Added bonus that you don't have deal with arsehole students on spring break.

God no - don't go to Maine in March. It's the most depressing month. You can't hike because the snow on the trail has melted frozen melted frozen melted frozen into ankle-breaking sheet ice with potholes. Plus it'll be freezing. I spend every March wishing I lived somewhere else...

End of March, beginning of April...out in Bar Harbor, ain't that bad...I've biked worse trails.

Certainly wouldn't want to go for a swim, but when would any one
