Honeymoons
Currently thinking of honeymoon ideas for March next year (within mainland USA) and was wondering if anyone had suggestions or could share where they went? Discovered that America doesn't really do all-inclusive which I found strange.
Cheers,
Scott

There's many great places to visit within the USA. It's difficult to make a suggestion without knowing what sort of places you and your fiancee actually like, though.

Mainly just wondering where other people went really.
We're looking for a beach, nice hotel, all-inclusive (unlikely to find it though from what I've seen), relatively quiet, and warm.

Hawaii? We went to Kauai, though not for our honeymoon, and it was really nice.
Going in March will restrict your options for beach vacations too.

Yeah it's an awkward time of year, our wedding is the 19th March and we'd like to go right after rather than delaying it really. It sounds like California, Florida, Hawaii or the US Virgins Islands are our main choices. I'm thinking more of any specific hotels anyone has been too or areas (more specific than just the state).

Re: Honeymoons
We had a week in Mexico and a week of skiing at Mammoth Mountain. Puerto Vallarta in Mexico was lovely and it's where Liz and Richard Burton had their honeymoon. Very romantic. Apart from the college kids.......

Key West, I didn't love it in August though. I think you said Mainland USA because you can't travel abroad at that time - K1 visa?

We've definitely been considering Hawaii, it looks awesome there.

So. Florida will probably be a good choice for March, but spring break time could ruin that.
Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or US Virgin Island's not mainland but would be the best weather for a beach vacay and warm weather.
All inclusive isn't really done in the US or Canada all that much if at all, people go to Mexico, Cuba (for Canadian's) Dominican Republic, Jamaica and others for their all inclusive fix.

We got back from Maui a couple of weeks ago. It was a good package from Costco. Flight, car, hotel, breakfasts and a dining credit. Everything is a bit more expensive there than on the mainland, so take that into consideration as well. Definitely worth it, although I don't know what sort of weather it is in March. Spring seems to be whale watching season there.

We holidayed in Waikiki last year from 26Feb to 10 March.
Except for one day with heavy rain, the weather was perfect! around 23/24 degrees most days - just like an English summer.(Well, from memory anyway!) We loved it.
loads of honeymoon couples - mind you most of them were Japanese as it's one of their favourite honeymoon places.Prices not too bad but did find hotels were more expensive, probably due to demand and location. did the mini dinner cruise for my wifes birthday, island tour etc. It was like a second honeymoon! If you'd like more info then PM me - I have plenty of photos!

We went to Italy, which doesn't help you very much. If your primary concerns are hotels, beaches, and mild/warm temperatures in the US in March, unless your budget stretches to Hawaii, your choices consist of south Florida, south Florida, or, er, south Florida.

Re: Honeymoons
If your concern about leaving the mainland is about diversion to another country, your pretty safe from that going to Hawaii, between the US west coast and Hawaii there is nothing in between but ocean, your diversion points are generally California and Hawaii.

We did the North Shore on Oahu.
Absolutely spectacular. Everybody should do Hawaii at least once.
Our next trip will probably be to Kauai.

Another vote for Hawaii, it truly is stunningly beautiful, and perfect for a honeymoon, there's plenty to do, but it can be as relaxing as you want. Not sure why anyone ever wants to do an all inclusive (unless it's based on price), there are so many wonderful restaurants to try, it seems a shame to limit yourself to what's on property.
The weather in March is lovely, mid 20's, sunny with a light breeze. It's also the end of whale season, one of my favorite things when we in Maui last year, was sitting on the balcony, early morning, sipping a coffee and watching the whales.
