There are a lot of similarities in many places around the British Isles. Especially the houses. Up until about the mid-80s it seems like there was only about four different house designs.
This is the house I grew up in, it is basically the standard issue UK 1970s semi. I bet everyone here had a few streets' worth of these in whatever town they grew up in:

Londonderry/Derry (whatever you want to call it) Northern Ireland. I left there in 1977 when I was a young woman - still miss it - try and get back every few years.

The roses looked a lot better when we lived there but we moved out in 1989. I didn't put up a picture of the next house because it's been extended and looked different, but the street view in my first post was the street we moved to. About half a mile round the corner from the Wimpey

Derry's looking good up above too.

Plymouth Hoe
I went to Plymouth Polytechnic, and keep thinking if we move back to the UK, this is an area we would consider.
I'd prefer to move to the Scottish Highlands, but the wife doesn't like the cold and midges, although the croft life appeals to her.

Absolutely stunning!

Edit: And I should mention that one of my more interesting homes is shown in that picture, spent six months on Drake's Island back in the 80's.

That brings back memories. Let's just say that there are activities frowned upon by society which I may have been party to in that shelter below the lighthouse, when I was far too young to know better..

My homes are divided. London where I was brought up just less than a mile from Parliament and my adopted home, Scotland. Hopefully, we can visit this year but it's not long before retirement when we hope to move back permanently! It's been a long 2.5 yrs without a visit back to the UK. In that time my Dad and Uncle have died
