I refuse to live in an HOA area. It's easier and less onerous living in a historic district.
If and when I move again, I won't live in an HOA area, but that means either living in the older but expensive central areas, or in the boonies. |

I was 26 when we signed the contract to build this house. It's now my castle and keep and I feel safe here.

That's my philosophy entirely. Down town or the boonies -- anything in between is just sad.

Re: HOA .... Please remind me
I'm in the boonies with a HOA  Luckily most everyone moved here to get away from people and mind their own business and don't give a dam what you do on your own property.
But my friend works at the clubhouse and the stories of the arguments between board members is hysterical. You'd think they were all still in High school. |

If it's anything like my library group with its long-running sagas of the by-laws and who is and isn't allowed to physically touch the donations box, I totally sympathize :banghead:

luckily the snow plow chewed all the poles up the following winter so that was one less thing for them to argue about! |

Toon, what is UP with the soap avatar? Thought you needed hair clippers, not soap! |
