Nitty Norah the bug explorer..
God how I hated that woman..I was lucky as I had the short "flicker" style haircut at school, but I always felt sorry for my friend Sam, she was tiny but had long (and unfortunately corse) hair right down to her butt, which her mum always platted for school every day..
all you would hear were her screams as Nitty Norah forced that tiny metal comb through all of her hair..that woman was plain cruel and nasty and really didn't give a crap if she hurt you..

Never mind mate....at least you can remember it was soap
My grandma always used the smelly orange soap and when we stayed at her house we always had to have a bath in the old tin bath tub on the kitchen floor with the hot water poured in from the big kettles on the stove, and I remember the smelly soap......

I never saw a bath tub but there were sinks in the hall ways and that old carbolic soap smell.

I think the creosote used to be painted on kids heads after it had shaved,I dont know, I sort of remember something like that.,,,,,,,,Maybe dreaming
Carbolic had its own smell. You would always get a good scrub down with that,No wonder as kids we were never sick,I reckon the pong from the soap kept the germs at bay.

We have been in the US since July 07. When my two eldest children started school, they were nit free. However a few weeks into school and my poor 6 year old had loads of the things! I tried a few potions, but found that using a good old Nitty Gritty Comb and conditioner works the best. What is annoying is that I get them clear, only to have them re-infected. One vigilant parent is useless. Despite putting their hair up, fumigating everything their little heads rest upon, and continual combing it would appear that headlice is the gift that keeps on giving!
