Reporters being sent to Tornado/Hurricane/Cyclone areas naff me off no end. Ffs, when people are told to hunker down, don't go and stand on the beach and whitter on about the weather.

Hope everyone in its way are safe. Thinking of you, which does nothing for anyone!

I'm on rising bayou watch right now. It is out its banks and creeping up our property very quickly.

At least our power is back for now but the rain bands are still strong and frequent. M has been called out to fix a pump, which is worrying. Hopefully he found a road that wasn't flooded!

If you see ariel views of a crazy woman on a roof then you'll know I didnt do a Moses and part the water.
It's going to be a long few days yet!

On night shift over here reporting on it - let me know if I need to dispatch a floodboat
Seriously though, stay safe and lets hope that water stops creeping......

Keep safe. We are alright. Can't see any major damage but will check everything when we get a dry patch. Loads of tornado warnings but the one that touched was south of us. There's lots of water but the storm drains are managing to take some of it away when we get the brief dry periods.

Went for a walk during our hour of no rain. This is the local bayou, that's usually a normal bridge

It appears to still be passable, which is a good thing. Hopefully the water level won't rise too much more.

We had an hour without water and it dropped down. Course, it's now been raining for another hour so it's probably back up!

The only flooding around the streets we saw was where people's drainage was blocked up. We made sure ours were all cleared.

We have just had a break in the rain. It is supposed to start up again in a couple of hours. We have water surrounding us but still not close enough to get into the house. The local cops have blocked the road in front of us to be deter anyone driving through the standing water and they have suggested we move our vehicles to the church parking lot as it is higher ground.

This is a strange storm. Just hovering over the coast and not moving away is very unusual.

I was also sad to see that Rockport and Fulton were hit by the main part of the storm. We love to visit that small Bayside area. We always stay at the Lighthouse Hotel in Fulton. It is one of the friendliest and relaxing small hotels I have ever stayed at. I do hope it survived the storm.

We've had steady rain all day, my pool has filled by about 5-6 inches. The low water crossings are steadily closing with another 4 in the last 15 minutes. Austin will cope but all this water flows into the colorado and then down to the Gulf.

Take care everyone.

Well this is extremely unpleasant. I think it's ended for a while but we have been hunkering down in the half bath for tornados nearby. How are you holding up Sugarmooma?

Our Bayou is flowing nicely. Local roads flooded but idiots still trying to get down them.

My sympathies to all of you in Texas. After experiencing a hurricane several years ago in NJ...I know what it's like to hunker down in the basement. We had a 100ft+ fir tree downed...it just missed the house...shingles ripped away and without power for a week...so I know to a lesser extent how it feels. Stay safe everyone.
