Your best argument is probably that "What the Health" is a lot of lies, with a few minor good points in between.

Here's one of many rebuttals available on the web:

I've found myself missing tins of Heroes and/ or Celebrations.

At least there's time to fix that before Christmas!

It all needs to be surrendered to me as soon as can be arranged. I think that's fair.

I got a big thing of Celebrations for Christmas last year, so I know they can be found out here. World Market, maybe.

I don't agree with all of these ratings (for instance I love Necco Wafers & licorice!) .... but this list brings up a question I have: what size/amount of candy do you pass out to the trick-or-treaters?

Do you just go with the big bags of 'Snack Size' treats that are sold everywhere specifically for Halloween? And then do you folks give just one of those per TTer? Those seem to get smaller each year.

Or do you give a few of the little treats to each? The Husband found them so small this year, he was tossing whole big handfuls into the TTers' bags.

In previous years, I've sometimes forgotten to buy the treats till the last minute (HW morning) and ended up buying whatever larger 6-packs of candy bars were left on the shelf. Hubby said he preferred those, & he wants those next year, but they're invariably more expensive....

Personally, I love Lemonheads and Mike n' Ikes, so if he wants to trash them, he can just send them my way instead

We buy the snack sized bars (a few bags of different kinds) and then maybe some small bags of Skittles/M&Ms/Starburst, or the little boxes of Nerds. One glorious year, there was a bag of Tootsie Pops that I carefully hid so I could avoid handing them out.

They all go in a big bowl and we just dole out handfuls of them as we get people at the door. The amount varies depending on the time, we might hand out more towards the end of a quiet night if we have a bunch still left. Although this year, the first kid I had was a little boy in a Batman suit who looked so bloody cool I handed him a shitload of candy just because I felt he deserved it

Definitely world market. They're also selling mince pies, english toffee (the type with a little hammer with it), shortbread, fox's glacier mints and some other stuff in the British Christmas section

I did find Belgium Jaffa cakes at Target, but unfortunately all out of stock within 100 miles of me.

I have heard good things about the German ones you can get at Aldi, but I always forget about them when I'm actually in one.

Full sized bars. Full sized bars show that you're through playing. Full sized bars indicate taste and class. Full sized bars are baller.

Costco sells a box of 20.

**** that noise, full sized bars means everyone will come to your house and you don't have any left over.

The rest of that sounds like a bunch of bullshit holiday gatekeeping as well. Meh.
