So we've just had a very late thanksgiving meal.. I had my first 'proper' dishes.
Sweet potato wth marshmallows and green bean casserole with mushroom soup and fried onions.
I can't even speak. That is all 😳😳😲

A very very late thanksgiving meal. I'm an American and never had a string bean casserole with mushroom soup and canned fried onions in my life. And never will. Those outside of the South do not consider this a proper dish.

As for those god awful marshmallow sweet potato casseroles, barf city. Sweet potatoes are already sweet. They don't need added sugary adornment. Simply bake them and eat 'em.

Now I know food like chicken and waffles is simply heaven on a plate, but that is taking it to the next extreme.

My good lady made green bean casserole, with mushroom soup and fried onions to have with our Christmas dinner, I just looked at it thinking, barf in a dish!

But it certainly tasted a lot better than it looked!!

As long as you add a can of crushed pineapple, the sweet potato and marshmallow dish is superb. The food of the gods. It is in fact the highest expression of American civilisation.

The first is surely liquid cheese from jar or dispenser?

No, that's nasty too. There are plenty of good things to eat around here, and chicken and waffles isn't one of them.

I sometimes wonder if you might succumb to dementia. I think I have an answer now.

I've never had either of these items mentioned, had to google them, still never seen them before.

Maybe it wasn't a thing in my California family.

I'd put both of those behind sweetened, emulsified vegetable fat in a spray can masquerading as cream.

How to prepare sweet potatoes...

1. Wash thoroughly
2. Put in a 350 degree oven for two hours
3. Remove from oven and allow to cool
4. Throw them in the bin and make real chips!

Chips shouldn't be orange.
