Re: Facebook

Well I'm an idjit. I was home today with a bug, so in between laundry, dishes etc I was on here but also decided to take a further plunge into Facebook. Some of you here may have noticed that today-:D

Well I tried to suss out some BE folks, found some, some found me and that was nice. Emboldened, I remembered that one of my oldest and dearest friends had mentioned either Facebook or My Space a year or so ago and asked if I was on it.
So I tried searching for her by name. There were a bunch of folks with her name, which I didn't think was all that common, but then I found the search feature by email address. So I hurriedly typed in her email address which is her name at puckapooch.com. BAM!!

I get this response immediately-

don't know you nor facebook. Where did you get my address and phone
Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

I'm like what the hell? So I say excuse me, are you married to Joe?

Response-I am divorcing my abusive husband John. I wonder if he has done or wrote something.

I now think oh rats, now what. So I write- I wish you luck.

response-Thanks. I made a bad mistake and have learned a huge lesson. It will be awhile before I can trust a man who acts like he cares. He is 50 and still is on his mommy's tit. Oh well.

So I apologize and say goodbye.

Response- It's cool. H*ppy holidays. Maybe I'll check out facebook. What is it anyways.

Now I've done it, I have enabled another Jane Doe for Facebook and I know more about her than I do about some of you. :o

No, I don't think so, I'm just in there but likely some of them are friends with me.

It's an example of how I got to be an idjit, not knowing what or who.

I have a facebook account. I joined to find a friend I had been out of touch with. I found her, and then somehow another girl I hadn't heard from in years contacted me. It might have been through the first girl because they know each other. Now I have two "friends". But I'm not sure what else you do on facebook. Is this it? You just type little messages and then a month later they type one back at you? And it always wants to know what I'm doing. Why?

That's how it was for me too. Rather dull. I'm not in to hurling a sheep at someone or whatever else it is they do.

Plus, it's blocked at work and I'm not online much when I'm at home due to an archaic dialup connection so I don't get much opportunity to mess around with it..

Well for me it was the only way to see all of the pictures my son took on their vacation to Jackson Hole this spring. Goober.

Nice pics though,

I've never even been to the website. I dont' even know the website address.

I've been tempted a few times to go on there, but, no offense anyone, it always seems to be quite juvenile to me, just like myspace.

Honestly, I think it is a bit juvenile.

My DH turns his nose up at it, but he's on Friends Reunited UK. Friends Reunited has him in touch with people he went to school with 45 years ago, people he worked with 30 years ago...... but he doesn't care for Facebook.

I'm on Friendsreunited too. Couple of friends organized a school reunion through that. I flew home for the weekend. Totally terrifying, excellent fun, nasty hangover the next day
