There was not an MP3 player that came close to the iPod at the time (and indeed for years after). Creative were the leader then, and their products were junk.
Can you think of one? I can't. |

Has anyone bought one of those Dyson hoovers that is the new style of the 'handheld unit with a long rigid noozle' like a DCC 44 or DC59 or similar.
http://www.dyson.com/vacuums/cordles...e&w=718&mh=454 Im wondering if they are any good? I have an old regular style Dyson upright and its a faff to take apart and use the hose attachments to do the stairs. I wondered if the handheld was any better? I have tried several cordless cleaners and all fail miserably on power and battery life. I have just ordered a cordless Dyson from Costco...if I have any problems with it in the next 3 years I will get a refund. Can't beat Costco's refund policy. |

I had one of the first Dyson cleaners when we lived in the UK...it was brilliant. In 1996 I couldn't buy anything close to it here.:

2. my grandparents grew up in the 'slum' areas of Manchester, where you may not have had any money, but you were judged by all your neighbours on how clean a house you kept, whether you whitestoned your front doorstep every week etc, and that attitude was passed down through the generations. So a matter of deep pride for my mum that you would never find a spider's web daring to lurk in the corner of her ceiling. |

Still not remotely a patch on the iPod.
Where it fell down, it didn't have a easy to use music store to buy legit music but then again, most folks back then were using Napster and just drag and dropped tunes straight onto it, which you couldn't do on the iPods. |

I've had several cordless cleaners and they have all been useless. The suction has been crap and the batteries don't charge too well after a few months. Ask me again in a year when I've had chance to try the battery life out...but the suction is excellent. If it fails to please in the next few years...off it goes back to Costco for a refund. |
