Sorry, just trying my best to clarify, so I used the example of a name that doesn't end in an s! Name that doesn't end in an s just gets an s added to create the plural; name like Jones that does end in an s gets es added. As it's a plural, no apostrophe needed!

WTF do Mericans know about the English language. They can't or cannot if you prefer even spell colour or programme.
If I want to say there are 3 mooses over there then I will. Its not likely to start a war or will it.

Singular possessive: Thomas' (Thomas's is also considered correct, I believe)
Plural: Thomases
Plural possessive: Thomases'

What really bugs me is the apostrophes in simple plurals. Especially on Christmas cards.

Happy Christmas from the Bryan's

From the Bryan's WHAT?????!!! GAH!

I bet you get peed off when someone says "Theres a bunch of badgers over there or a bunch of reindeer.
Would theres a shit load of reindeer work rather than having to remember if its a herd or set or a family of sardines.

I'm sorry, I can't answer - I have to go have a lie down to recover from the lack of closing quotation marks.

Breathe... breathe... breathe... someone pass me the paper bag.

Wheres auto correct when you need it? I am assuming the question mark is correct or should it have been I'm?

So here is a question for the grammar and punctuation police.
Many years ago when writing letters the Army had a way of formatting a formal letter or request and it had to be done that way and if not you did it again.

So using those standards today and an employee knew you were part of this regime and they sent you a letter/note basically saying you can stick your job up your ass would you accept it in that format or reject it and if you did accept it and the worker came back to work 3 weeks later and you told them that they had given you written notice but they turned around and pointed out that it was not in the correct format, language and punctuation so it was not a real letter of resignation would you accept that excuse.

PS how many commas did I miss?

I hate having to explain to my OH that I don't order an English muffin when we eat out for breakfast because they're not really a thing here in the UK!
