Default delay at embassy

Hi
I am waiting to hear back from the embassy when i will get my visa interview, i am getting really impatient and decided to ring the embassy, i have just been told there is a delay of 2-4 weeks with applications at the moment.

Not unusual. At certain times of the year, there is an additional wait of 2 to 4 on top of the normal 4 to 6 week wait.

Frustrating isn't it?

awww, when did they receive your papers? it should be soon then that youre letter is coming! did you try calling them and asking if they have any cancellations to see if they could put you in?

After i got notice that they received Jame's paperwork I emailed them 3 times to state he was prepared for the interview and they emailed me back 3 days later saying his date....

do a search on this forum for the us embassy email address, i cant remember now LOL and im too lazy to dig through my emails, i put the case number in the subject line, indicated who i was and how i was involved in the case and stated that my fiance was ready for his interview as soon as possible. I got an email back saying they deleted it without being read, but 3 days later someone emailed me back and told me that his interview would be today and that they mailed the letter to him that day.

i did it 3 times over the course of 3 days, just "in case" I did get two replies, one 3 days after the 1st time and one a week later with the same info from a different person.

I don't think they pay any mind to your intended date of travel. I put ours as Sept 30th '09 and my husband's interview is this Friday. (We received the interview date very quickly after submitting the check-list).

It seems like they sort of take in check-lists and assign interviews in batches or something... Comparing to people on this forum who have a similar time line to mine- someone sent their readiness check-list a week before me and their interview is a few days after... WHO KNOWS!
