They tend to sell it at the Christmas tree lots around here.

Went for a 6ft one as that was the smallest they had, with the stand it fits with about a mm to spare. Cost $30 from one of the bizarre looking Mainers by the side of the road that Bob mentioned

Real for us - usually about 7ft which is a wee bit big for our room (we are in the UK) - 5ft would probably be better but we tend to get a bit carried away

We get ours from our local country park - it's a nice outing to have a walk in the woods/round the lake cup of tea, then get the tree... not cheap though, about £60 usually...

We have a perfectly serviceable fake 7.5' one that has done the job nicely the last 4 years.

There are presents under it already?! That's brave. I'm not very good at leaving presents alone. I like the challenge of figuring out what they are!

The only thing under our tree at the moment is the cat. Sneaky little bitch thinks she can sit where she likes, but I think mainly it's for the heating vent right next to it.

Still, she'd better watch it or she'll get a foot in the arse. We've already had one tree ruined by her.

I should have said, that was a picture from last year (Christmas day)....

Although I think our dog would seriously enjoy a few weeks of presents under the tree to play with

Our cats like to eat the bottom branches, sleep on the tree skirt and play with the ornaments!

Our dog leaves it all alone. It's the cats... They take great pride in knocking ornaments off and chasing them around the house in the early hours of the morning...!

Ours generally leaves the tree itself alone. She pulled one over years ago, broke the base and smashed a few ornaments, I think she learned pretty quickly that it was a monumentally stupid thing to play with them.

Still, I don't trust her, she's always up to something.

Shoving the tree up the cat's arse does seem like a fitting punishment though ...
