I've missed out on this whole Chav thing in the UK, having lived away for several years. Like Manc says, I think it's been around in some way shape or form for quite a while though, Britain has for many years had the yob culture going.
I'm sure it is here in the states too, but as far as boozy fights at the chipshop and that sort of element goes, it certainly does not seem to occur as much over here. Granted, you get the odd drug dealer related shootings in nightclubs
but on the whole it does seem calmer, unless anyone knows different?
