Bring some decent (British) beer or some good US beer, and by the time they have finished that, they wouldn't care what the eventual score is.

so, it was a very pleasant evening... some people (read fellas) were actually watching the game. The rest of us were around the kitchen eating and drinking with no interest whatsoever in what was going on apart from seeing chris martin.

Lovely evening not spoiled in the slightest by sport. I think I like this USA thing!

Well done Denver people.

One game a year is enough for me, though. Four hours?

Not the best Super Bowl game. Definitely all about the 2 defences. Best team on the night won, but best team of the season lost.

The roads are bizarrely quiet this morning, the journey to drop little Miss P off at school was 5-10 minutes shorter than usual. The only time it is usually that quiet is when the public schools have a teacher work day.

The grocery is also bizarrely quiet, even for 8am it is usually quiet.

Well not just Denver people, all true believers.

Anybody else going tomorrow for the Parade?

The roads where I am are somewhat quiet, mainly because they were closed due to the weather, looks like they just reopened, spent yesterday morning digging the truck out, hopefully OK where I parked it.

Coldplay - the halftime show needs to have energy, not the background music of a wine party. Playing it loudly doesn't make it more exciting. I don't even know what Beyonce thought she was doing, some kind of aggressive dancing and mumbled lyrics. Bruno Mars didn't really do much, but managed to be well above average, just not as good as last time he did the halftime show.

Not sure what Eli Manning is on, but he didn't smile once. Broncos score, the family around him jumps around crazily, he stares into the distance like he is in the waiting room while his dog is undergoing surgery.

Perhaps it's not good form to jump around for a team other than one's own, even if it does involve family . . . or, he was thinking, "Damn, now I'm not the only one in the family with two rings . . . "

It was a shit game, boring as ****, and that odious **** Manning banging on about 'the man upstairs' made me want to puke.

Still, at least there was Coldplay at half time.

Well, there was Chris Martin singing along to a prerecorded backing track of snippets of their songs, I suppose.

I wish we'd just kept watching the X-Files, to be honest
