Re: BritBox
Is anyone having problems with Britbox?
Yesterday it kept telling me to subscribe even though we have been for months now, Roku takes our money every month! Got Roku help on the phone and we went through unsubscribing resigning and changing passwords but still will not work. We are now waiting to hear back from Britbox. It is annoying. . |

Been ok here on the Roku. I just tried signing out on the PC and back in again... Seems ok.
( I am feeling extremely homesick right now, wish we were still there so the absence of Britbox has not helped):(:( |
Re: BritBox
You are not using smartdns or a vpn by any chance to view UK TV. I had to turn my smartdns off as it was causing problems with BritBox.

Nope. We have UKTV on Roku, although it isn't working right now either:thumbdown:
Also on my phone. Have you tried that btw? |
Re: BritBox
Still not working:(
The promises of fixing the problem are wearing thin. I have to get into grouchy old British woman mode , that'll tell them:nod::thumbdown: |
Re: BritBox
New addition this week - Only Fools & Horses. Seven seasons plus six Christmas episodes.
Plus the Benedict Cumberbatch docu-drama, Dunkirk and The Persuaders! |

I have the same problem now. Started this evening. What was the solution?
I really don't think much of their customer service though, Britbox or Roku. Plus for 2 months I was double billed and they are still working on that "glitch" :fingerscrossed: for you. Hope it all works out ok. |

I finally had to delete it. Because I was paid up until 19 it wouldn't let me start over again. On the 20th I signed back up with Roku and ever since it has been fine.

That doesn't sound good. I haven't tried to log in this morning to see if it is the same. I rest my password online so we'll see it that helps. Having watch Britbox for about 3 hours last night it suddenly refused to play part 3 of a Miss Marble story. This was about 10pm, so I just gave up on for the night.

Re: BritBox
I am still waiting for Britbox to be released on Fire TV. I am not about to go and spend a $100 on a roku box that's almost as fast as the Amazon box. Also I don't think the Roku allows for the 2 screen experience or has a child restrictions like Amazon freetime.
Has anyone had experience of an Android TV box? I have read that it may be the way to go for TV viewing. Something like this. Download SMALLRT X2 Android TV Box Firmware and Flash Upgrade introduced by Top 10 TV Boxes - Press Release Rocket |

All it does is run Kodi (google it), which you can side-load on the Fire and have all the functionality they're charging hundreds for! |

First, there's a Roku for $30 that. That's what I got purely for Britbox!

Re: BritBox
Strange. Ours, whilst not blazing, is certainly fast enough.

I tired the $30 Roku, it's like stirring treacle, so slow. They are about as fast as the Amazon Fire Sticks. The Fire TV is probably 3 or 5 times faster. It's almost instant play when selecting a show.

Re: BritBox
The fire TV stick has a spinning circle for about 20 seconds between selecting the show and the show starting, Maybe the Roku sticks have improved.
I was going to look at the premier+ box because of the speed, but sounds like I don't need to. |

Re: BritBox
I run a HDMI cable from my PC to the TV for BBC iPlayer, and the ITV and Channel 4 players. Control from a wireless keyboard.
A plug to "Monoprice" for low prices on all kinds of cables and accessories. https://www.monoprice.com/ |

I just bought a premier+ actually (haven't set it up yet). I wanted it so I can run Ethernet instead of WiFi to the tv. Got it on sale for 50 bucks, so not a bad deal.

Mine was a new one, direct from Roku. They sent me an email offer a couple of weeks ago so I took them up on it. |
Re: BritBox
FYI it looks like BritBox is now available as an Amazon Prime Video subscription channel.
$6.99 a month https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/chan...efitID=britbox |

$6.99 a month https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/chan...efitID=britbox In order to watch Britbox via Amazon, I have to cancel my Britbox subscription and sign up for the Amazon channel. I'm emailing Britbox to see if I can transfer the Britbox sub to Amazon to avoid losing all my settings/favorites/history, etc. |
Re: BritBox
Is there anything current on Britbox, all the shows seem reruns of shows years old.?

My TV has a FireStick in it with Mobdro (live TV app) and Terrarium (on demand tv and movies). Also have these installed on my LG tablet and phone. You can also put the same programs on a Kindle Fire since it is essentially an Android device. Wouldn't pay for BritBox. Feel free to PM me with any questions. |

Re: BritBox
Had Britbox for a couple of weeks now.
Since I have two Fire TV boxes I subscribed to the Amazon channel. The picture quality is a superbly stable 1080p, since it's running on Amazon's infrastructure. I would recommend anyone starting with Britbox to subscribe via Amazon Video if you have a device that plugs into the Amazon ecosystem. And Strictly just started! |
