Bread is probably just below the lack of Sausage rolls on my list of problems I do have with the USA. Publix do an ok fresh Mountain Bread Loaf sliced where I live, but outside of that I have struggled. We went down the Bread Maker route but it is a hassle if you are not a baker. If you are crazy enough, you can get fresh bread frozen and shipped! There are few online places offering it - saw it while looking for Christmas Chocolates (I am trying to dive into the local culture, but Hershey's is just vomit).

That said, I am not a huge fan of bread. It is convenient for stopping my lunch making my fingers greasy, and for mopping up the oil in the pan after frying sausage, eggs and mushrooms for breakfast. Otherwise I think bread is overrated.

I love Trader Joe's but hate their bread. Don't like the taste, texture and had issues with it going off before it should. Bread generally is an issue so l tend to buy bagels as a cop out!

It's not hard to buy good bread. Just don't buy it in the "bread" isle, because they don't keep any there.

I go to the bread store to buy bread. A family favorite is sourdough , I prefer the nutty or seeded bread. I hate the so called diet bread, the slices are just half the size. I have noticed some loaves have got shorter.

Bread is the only food I buy that I look at the ingredients before buying. So long as the sugar is 2g/slice, or less (ideally 1g or less) it won't (IMO) taste sweet.

On the chocolate front - I have yet to find any brand, including the Canadian sourced Dairy Milk that is acceptable. It is not a bad thing really. Beer on the other had has been a welcome surprise, and not so good for me.

We went through 4 bread makers in 6 months - I think this is just a personal issue. Even that is not a lovely Tiger Loaf, and as much as I love fresh bread, I do have days where I just want a slice of Hovis.

We have an Amish grocery store reasonably close (20 miles!) which does nice loaves that aren't lagged with sugar and the Cuban bread baked in Ybor city, Tampa, is to die for but a bit of a haul just for bread.

When I want good bread I order imported and frozen loaves from GermanDeli. The Roggenbrot and Baunerbrot are to die for. With some lovely imported German Wursts and butter, who needs anything else.

They also import and sell candy.
Have never liked the taste of Nutella. Can't figure out what the hoopla is all about. My German aunt loved Fluff-a-Nutter and always asked us to send it to her in her care packages.
