Bloody flight prices!!!!!
#1
Was going to book our flights on Sunday night but found out on the last page needed a credit card (don't have one). Anyway cut a long story short asked friend if she would use hers etc fine no probs. Went back on line last night to see the same flight had gone up by nearly $600 in total. Cheesed of is an understatement. Don't even want to book the bloody things and definately don't want to be robbed.
Does anyone know if the prices are cheaper on a weekend or have I just been unlucky - Again!!!
Sorry bout that just needed to get it off my chest. Bloody airlines :curse:

Have you checked out different travel sites, airlines or dates?

We found too that they went up and down at an unbelievable rate - if we had waited until last minute we would have saved about $1000 :curse:

I think sometimes people make frivolous on-line reservations and don't follow them through, and the seats are re-released.

If you check in the morning and then again in the afternoon, the prices can change, - either way. I actually saw the price of a flight go up twice (30 quid a time)! when i was browsing for BA flights once. I came back the next day and it had dropped to the previous day's level.

I have found that it's best not to wait until the last minute to book because you won't always be guaranteed of getting a last minute deal. I wouldn't leave booking anywhere after two weeks to flying time (ten days at the very closest). Winter months are the cheapest and Summer months are always MUCH more expensive.

Worth a try.
Have you tried Singapore airlines?
I tried to book with Emirates online, the good cheap price was there on the first screen that appears. I then went through the booking system, took ages, only to have the prices increase at the time of payment by about $800 plus dollars. Needless to say I didn't continue with the booking.

Be careful with using someone else's credit card. Sometimes it says (in very small letters) that the person who's card it is has to be in the travelling party or they won't accept it.
My sister was planning on coming out with one daughter, picking the other daughter up in Bangkok on the way - she's seen the prices and is now probably not coming

Was going to print the page the following day and take it to flight centre to see if they could better it but price had already gone up. Typical.
Oh well, will just have to keep checking.
Let me know if you get a decent price.

We've booked with emirates for end of August $1700 inc. The price the week before was $2700. However, we wanted to fly back from Newcastle instead of Manchester mid sept and the price would have been $2500.
How do the airlines justify these anomalies in their pricing?

Absolutely on this one. I think you may find that Emirates is one of the airlines that the credit card payer has to be one of the passengers.

I checked the prices of flights to the UK from the US on Monday and got quoted $900. Checked yesterday $1250. Today $950.
